About Me

I am a Head of English and Literacy in South Wales, and have previously worked as a Teacher of Welsh, Media and Film alongside English. I am currently seconded in an advisory and coaching role.
In my spare time, I am currently studying Classics with Cambridge University. I also like to read a wide range of fiction, and record my thoughts in podcast form. I am also a co-host of The Lit Lounge, a podcast which advocates for reading as a cool and enjoyable pastime at secondary level.
I believe strongly that engaging with evidence and research at a pedagogical and subject specific level is key to maintaining excellent classroom practice. I am an unashamed nerd when it comes to pedagogy, curriculum design and assessment, and I am constantly looking for new information and insights into how these can be developed.
I started this blog after speaking at a global Media conference in 2021. Now, I use it to periodically document my thoughts and practices, to reflect on their efficacy and to share any resources I think could be of use to others. Thank you for stopping by, and I hope you find something useful here!
